If you're already working and want to formalise your skills, take on more responsibility, or move into coordination roles, a Certificate IV is the right level. Choose Certificate IV in Business for broad operational skills, Certificate IV in Leadership and Management if you supervise a team, or a specialist Certificate IV in Human Resource Management, Project Management Practice, or Marketing and Communication.
If you manage people, lead a function, or are stepping into management, a Diploma gives you the capability employers expect at that level. Choose Diploma of Business, Diploma of Leadership and Management, Diploma of Human Resource Management, or Diploma of Project Management.

Vanguard Business Education offers two kinds of qualification at Certificate IV and Diploma level. General qualifications in business and in leadership and management cover capability that applies across almost any workplace. Specialist qualifications in human resources, project management, and marketing go deeper into one function.
A general qualification is usually the better choice if your role spans several areas, if you are not yet settled on a direction, or if you want the widest range of options afterwards. A specialist qualification is usually the better choice if you already work in that function, or if you want your qualification to tell an employer exactly what you can do.
Both sit at the same AQF level and both are nationally recognised. The difference is focus, not standing. If you are unsure, choosing the general qualification first and specialising later is a reasonable sequence, and some units may carry across as credit transfer.
